Eye Drops

Took two days but I think I finally figured out how to get the pink eye medicine in Justin's eyes. I wish kids came with a manual.... ♥

Justin is sick

Justin wakes up this morning: 'Mommy my eyes are itchy'. I was thinking oh, his allergies are bothering him again. He walks downstairs and one of his eyes are glued shut. :( Dr appt at 1:30. Poor kiddo. ♥

Feels like running today...and running some more. Maybe I'll do 5 or 6 miles. Maybe... Just myself, my thoughts and my ipod.

Had a 4 1/2 mile run. I so needed the 'me' time away from the house. In child news - Justin does have pink eye and a severe sinus infection. Poor kiddo. ♥

Is feeling like making applesauce today...and apple dessert.

Is feeling like making applesauce today...and apple dessert.

The apple dessert we made today is the BOMB. Low cal - and Joey and Joe thinks it's fab. It's a hit of my little guy likes it!

The house is clean. Now the question is how long will it stay like that with three boys in the house (NOT including Joe). My guess is less than a minute. *sigh*....

Still working!

I'm still up working....lalalala - 1:39am

It's never good when your boss, who has 30 years of experience at the job, states, 'I've never seen anything like this, ever'.... WHoohoo I get to be a part of history!! Then my server goes down again... at least I have a thunderstorm going on outside to watch ♥

Gosh, 4am....bed sounds soooo good right now.

♥ off to dream land. Need to put out more fires for work in the morning. It's been a long night. Whew - 4:13am

is wondering if I will be wide awake this morning or dragging after working until after 4am. So far I'm wide awake. Strange how the body is able to function on so litttle sleep....

Off to catch a snooze, to make up for my lack of sleep last night. zzzzzzz ♥

Joe is off to watch the Tigers/Rangers game, the boys and I are doing a fun playdate with Vicki and her boys! I think we've seen each other every day this week. LOL...

Is happy the Detroit Tigers won because Joe will be happy when he comes home, if he ever comes home. He says the parking at the Arlington park is absolutely awful. Oh and yes, his moods are determined by whether the Tigers win or lose.... :)

Long nights

I love my job but when there are big problems at 11pm at night, it makes for a long long night.

Longer evenings...

Crashing Vicki Kynard Shapiro's house tonight to watch her favorite show - Vampire Diaries. She assures me that the men in the tv show are definitely worth watching. LMAO.... GNO :)

The kids in the neighborhood are all so sweet and play nicely together. They just put together Joey's kite themselves and are trying to fly it. ♥

I like the longer evenings in the spring/summer but I'll just can't keep us on a schedule so the kids get to bed before 9. Augh..... It is sooo frustrating! It is so much easier in the winter when it gets dark earlier!

Stay in BED!!

It will be a miracle if my 3 year old ever stays in bed and doesn't wake up at least 5x before finally zonking out. It's getting really old. I'm listening to Joe Fisher lay the smack down upstairs. *sigh* it gets old really fast...

Weekend update....

Joey had two birthday parties this weekend. One of them was for a girl in his class. As we were leaving the girl he has a crush on was walking up with her parents. I told Elizabeth that Joey was there and would be very happy to see her. She smiled and said, "I'll be very happy to see Joey too". It was so cute.

I told Elizabeth's mom that Joey has a crush on Elizabeth and she laughed and said Joey was one her of her favorites too. It was just sooo cute.

After the party we asked Joey if he saw his girl and he said yes. And I said, "Joey, who's your girl?" and he says with a silly grin on his face, 'Elizzzaaaabeetttthhhhh'. It was sooo cute.

It was nice Saturday evening. Joey had a birthday party for Jack from 4-6 and so we went to Brandy's to give her Justin's Thomas bike and she gave us a Diego ride on tricycle. Justin loves it.

Afterwards we went to Dairy Queen. I wasn't hungry and didn't get anything. Justin and Joe each got a chocolate covered Dilly bar.

A little later we picked up Joey and ate a late dinner. I went over to Vicki's to watch New Moon and have a girl's night. It was nice.

Sunday was a lazy day. It was chilly outside and raining. Joey lost his fourth tooth eating a gummy vitamin! Nothing much went on today except we cleaned.

That's about it to share!

Jamming to Detroit City while cleaning the house. :)

I am heading off to a tropical island with swaying palm trees, coconuts full of rum, rolling waves and sunshine. that's right it is dream time. good night

Jury Duty

The USA loves me - because I've been selected for jury duty 3 times by the time I am 31! So far I've done federal, county and now city court.

I showed up today and was brought into the court to see if I would be a juror on the case. Only 6 people out of about 15 would be selected. The past two jury duty calls I was selected for a case.

When it came time to call up names, guess who gets call - Yes me AGAIN. I can't believe every time I've been called for jury duty I've made it onto the jury panel each time.

This case was a open container was it possession call? The woman defended herself again the state prosecutor. She didn't give a closing argument, didn't cross examine - it was almost like she didn't care. On top of it her story just didn't seem to add up.

I was head juror because of my experience with jury duty in the past. We all found her guilty and we could give a fine of 0 - 500 and we knew she was living paycheck to paycheck so mentioned that to everyone that $500 to use may not be a big deal but $150 to her will feel like $500 to us. They all agreed and said they felt $150 was the number in their head. We delivered the verdict and that was all.

So far the kids are doing great. Justin has been very whiny lately and it's really annoying. Joey is completely potty trained now - was about a month or two ago. We are so proud of him. It's like the light bulb finally went off.

I've lost 8.2 lbs now in WW. I can really tell. All my clothes are loser, my face looks thinner and I feel great. I think I measured myself and it said I've lost 8 inches too which is sooo awesome. I can't wait to get to WW goal!

Jury Duty

Jury duty today and it's already been a really weird morning...I actually woke up crying from a dream (so not like me), forgot to send my kid to school in his white shirt for kinder graduation photos and had to come home, change and drive him. I hope my day in court goes a litte better than my morning!

Had jury duty today. Served on my THIRD jury - yes I was picked AGAIN. I think they like me! :) I've now served city, federal and county. Today was 'open container / was it possession' charge. I was the head juror since I've done jury duty so many times. I think jury duty is so interesting. I actually like serving!

Birthday party...

Justin and Joey went to Justin's friend Mason's birthday party. They then met at the local fire department afterward and got to see and sit in the fire truck!

The bluebonnet field was NOTHING like it was last year. It was disappointing and it made me sad. Last year there were thousands. This year there were hardly any patches! We did the best we could though and took the photos we could with the little amount of bluebonnets we had. I heard someone say we didn't get much because of our really cold winter. Not sure if that was the case, but they weren't that spectacular this year.

Park Lunch

Joe went golfing with friends this afternoon. The boys and I are going to the park to have lunch and play. If anyone wants to join lmk :) What a beautful day outside! ♥

After nearly 2 1/2 hours at the park, some sun color (forgot about sunscreen already) we are stopping at Sonic for slushes for the kids and a nice cold diet cherry limeade for me. ♥

Terrible Threes

in this house there is no such thing as terrible twos - it is terrible threes. Oh Lord I do not embrace this stage with happiness.

Out in the open...

Since when did Justin think that is ok to go in the backyard and instead of coming inside to pee? He just whips it down and pees on the golf course!

Dear son, we do not live in the country, love mom.

*sigh* The joys of having BOYS.... ♥

Peeing where?

Anyone have any clue why the sirens in town just went off? They went off in Allen's not a test - tests are Saturdays. Just wondering.

Thought I would share a few of our keeper recipes from the past few weeks for those that like to cook: Turkey Spaghetti Sauce - if you add barilla plus pasta it's a great meal. Barilla plus pasta has 17 gm of protein and a lot of fiber per serving so it's really filling.

Turkey Spaghetti Sauce

  • 1 pound Italian turkey sausage links, casings removed
  • 1/2 pound extra-lean ground turkey
  • 1-3/4 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can (29 ounces) tomato puree
  • 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • Hot cooked multigrain spaghetti

  • Crumble sausage and turkey into a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray. Add the mushrooms, green pepper and onion. Cook and stir over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the puree, tomatoes, tomato paste, bay leaves and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
  • Discard bay leaves. Serve desired amount with spaghetti. Cool remaining sauce; transfer to freezer containers. Freeze for up to 3 months.
  • To use frozen sauce: Thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Place in a saucepan and heat through. Yield: 7-1/2 cups.

Updates on us...

Justin stayed home on Monday because he ran a fever on Sunday. He never had any other symptoms and went back to school on Tuesday. Now Tuesday Joey woke up with same annoying cough that got him a breathing treatment from the doctors office. She sent us home with a script to buy a nebulizer and after a breathing treatment he sounded better and I hope he goes to school tomorrow.

AT&T merged with Direct TV so we canceled our at&t tv service and got direct tv and Joe is soo soo happy because he now has the baseball package and can watch the Detroit Tigers on tv...

New Blog Look!!

Anyone that truly knows me well knows I am in LOVE with palm trees. If I were to get a tattoo, it would be a palm tree. I plan to get one to plant in our yard. I have a palm tree necklace. I love the smell of coconut tanning oil. I am totally in love with palm trees so when I found this blog template I HAD to change to it. I love it!!

I plan to do a blog update tonight so stay tuned :)

Park Day

At the park and it is just gorgeous outside. Warm, a little humid and it's just nice to get outside.

My poor little Justin has a fever!! The funny thing is Joe is going to call in sick tomorrow to take care of him and NO ONE at work will believe that Justin is sick because tomorrow is opening day for the Detroit Tigers and they will think he called in to watch the game! Ha! ♥

Egg Hunt

McKinney folks going to the city egg hunt. It says starts at 11 but the egg hints don't start until 12:30. I was not too happy about that.

Excited I got new Brooks running shoes and Nike dance shoes for Zumba!

Easter Egg Hunt

I volunteered to help Justin's class during his easter egg hunt. I hid the eggs in the room. Every time Justin found an egg he showed it to me and asked if he could have it. I kept telling him to just keep getting eggs and putting them in his basket. He was so excited about all the eggs he found!

His class.

Can I keep this one?
