Halloween!

On Halloween our subdivision had a block party and so we went to that a few hours before Halloween trick or treating started. It was a pot luck so everyone brought something. There was such good food at it.

Later that evening we went trick or treating in our own subdivision and got a ton of goodies. We tried going down a few other streets but they did not produce the same results as our subdivision so we called it a day.

Carving pumpkins

The 26th was carve our pumpkins day. We decided the pumpkins really needed to be carved. It was something we put off for quite some time. It seems like my mom and dad did more of the carving then the kids did. Joey was not a fan of all the guts inside the pumpkin. I saved all the pumpkin seeds and then made them later that week. We dried them out and made a baked pumpkin seed recipe. The one that was sugary and not salty won the best recipe award.

Dallas Arboretum visit

On the 25th we went to the Dallas Arboretum. Our work had an employees weekend where all we had to do is pay for parking. We all went last year when my mom and dad came down so we decided to visit again. They enjoy seeing all the plants and the way everything is decorated. As usual the kids really enjoyed it. It sounds like something for adults only to do but the kids love running around there and they have a bunch of kid only exhibits. This time it was a nursery rhyme themes for all of the exhibits they showed.
