Costume time....

The kids decided on costumes for this year. Joey wanted obi wan kenobi and Justin wanted to be superman. They looked so cute in their costumes. It was a good 90 degrees the day they tried them on so they didn't stay on too long. It was too hot!

Justin as Superman

Joey as obi wan kenobi

Justin probably ready to fly off the couch.

The boys have been begging for a pie so I had Joey pick out one to make. He chose a raspberry/pear tart. This is my first attempt at making a pie tart. The crust, topping (lattice made by myself too) and the inside was all made my me. I was so proud of how it turned out and it was YUMMY!!

The first pie I ever made!

My new hairdo...

Honestly I wanted to go blond but she told me it was too hard on my hair and lightened my natural color and put in blond and red highlights instead. I wasn't sure if I liked it but Joe really really liked it.

Click on the photos to see the red/blond in the hair. It's hard to see on these small photos.

Stressed out...

Facebook status:

Love that biggest loser started up a new season!! :) Going to try to get some shut eye a bit early tonight. I need it. So much to do lately I've been stressed out trying to keep everything running smooth. Between the kids schedules with school a...nd activities, work, appointments, cleaning the house, running errands and working out - it's been a bit much lately. Something's gotta give...

Rain and Anniversary

Facebook status:

Happy Monday. I am still enjoying the rain ;)

Gorgeous night out. Cool and breezy with a storm coming. Going to workout with Desiree. BTW got a new hairdo and blonde and red highlights today. I love it.

Off to the gym. Gonna run another 2.5 miles. :)

I ran 2.69 just to be competitive :) Then I lifted 9000 lbs (I did weights today too). The program tells you how much total you lifted when you sign out. It's pretty cool. I love the Y.

When you log into each machine it tells you what to put the seat at or any other things to adjust on the machine and tells you what you last lifted so you can set it up and if you do all your reps - at the end it asks if you want to increase your weights next time. I love it!

Justin has the wonderful knack of telling me he's 'poopy' right in the middle of dinner. That is just the worst timing ever. Seriously....there are 24 hours in a day and it has to be then?

Is working on her homework. This stuff is seriously all coming back to me. It's scary. I haven't coded in this since 99 or something. Ten years? Jeez.

Our view out back...

Facebook status:

I was just telling Joe last night that it doesn't feel like 8 years since the 9/11 attacks. It's still raw to me, as if it happened only a year ago. I know I will never forget that day in history. My prayers go out to those families of lost... ones and to those who helped on that day and the days that followed.

I love the dreary, stormy, cooler weather we are having. The lightening show is marvelous. This weather just seems to melt the stress away. I wish I had a covered porch that I could sit out on and watch.

Our view out back on a stormy day. I loved how these turned out. It's fun to watch the clouds roll in when it storms.

You can see how close we are to the green. We are off the first hole. It's marked on this photo.

This is the view from where they would tee off (except about 4 swings down).

Our master bath

I decided to take some photos of our master bath. I don't think I've ever taken good photos of it before. This is off our bedroom.

My mom made the curtains. Aren't they grand?

Our bathroom :)

More bathroom pics

We have a toilet closet. It was so weird to me when we moved to Texas to see houses built this way but it's nice because you can use the bathroom and people can still come into the bathroom. I saw another house with a big master bath and the toilet in the open and it's now so weird to see it like that! I like ours in the closet! Joe painted ours blue recently.

Our master walk in closet. By far very small compared to most Texas walk in closets!

Anniversary Dinner Early

Facebook status:

At Desiree's letting her dog out and the kids are swimming and playing on the trampoline. Joe and I are going out tonight for our 7 year anniversary dinner at Dakota's downtown. I can't wait. Kids are going to the drop in daycare ;)

I brought my camera but left the memory card at home so these were phone pics.

Facebook status later that evening:

Dinner at Dakota's was grand. We had a great time - food was great, ambiance was nice, it was perfect. I did a very good deed for a elderly woman while in the restaurant which made my day :) Now I'm home, kids are in bed and I'm about to do my VB homework...

Facebook reply to my status:

I was in the restroom and a restaurant employee helped an elderly woman in. I was done and I heard her say over the stall that she needed help. I asked if I could enter. She HAD to be talking to me - no one else was in the restroom. The woman didn't make it all the way and needed help putting her pants back on. I felt so terrible for her. I assisted her and helped her out of the restroom where I asked then Maitre D to call a cab (she asked). I think she may have had a touch of dementia? She couldn't remember where she sat, where her stuff was, etc. She told me she's gained a lot of weight since she eats out every day (I guess she can afford an expensive steak house!). She was so nice, talking to me about her boys and I told her about mine. I hope that if I am 80 one day and need help someone kind would be able to help me in a time of need. :) I think the maitre d was annoyed that I was put in that position but it actually made my day that I could help her :)

Facebook status:

Joey has an after school playdate with Chase, Amy's son and coincidentally we met right before school through Vicki. I think it's cool that Joey is friends with her son and they want to play together. He's going to have so much fun. He... bounded out of bed this am and couldn't wait to go after school :) Justin had a dentist appt this am - no cavities. Yeah!

later that evening:

It is so nice out tonight I wish I were going on a long run instead of doing P90x tonight. booo.
