Texas Lightening
I can never sleep when there is a good lightening storm. I have to grab my video cam and take video!
This was taken through a window that had rain drops on it. No sound (there was no thunder). The lights on the display are houses with lights...
In Texas there is a ton of lightening but no thunder. It's pretty cool.
There is less shaking on the video as you go down to the later videos.

Joey lost his first tooth!!
If you see in the videos above, Joey lost his first tooth!
He had a loose tooth for awhile and we didn't think much of it. He would wiggle it but nothing more.
One day we had dinner, steak and corn. After Joey was done eating dinner we asked him to take care of his plate like he normally does.
As he's walking past Joe, Joe yells, 'OMG Joey - you LOST YOUR TOOTH!'
Joe is jumping out of his seat. Joey is like, what? I did?
Joey has no clue where his tooth is.
Joe takes him plate and is frantically rummaging through it looking for a tooth. Low and behold, it's under the biscuit on his plate. He must have had it come out when he bit into his corn!
We showed him his tooth and he was so concerned he took it and put it back in his mouth.
We had to explain to him that the baby teeth fall out permanently and make room for the bigger teeth that are coming behind it. We also had to explain the tooth fairy.
The tooth fairy brought him $10 for loosing his first tooth (which the teeth after may only be worth a dollar or two!). I took video above of him getting his money from the tooth fairy for the first time. It's really cute.

The kids have been really good so we decided to take them to our HOA park. They loved getting out and around. We love going to parks because it's free (well our tax dollars pay for it, so you might as well use them!)

Joey was invited to a birthday party for a boy in his class named Jackson. It was at Lil' Gym in McKinney. It was really cool. The kids loved it as they could jump, run, swing and hang around all over the gym. They had fun things to do like these big parachutes and other things. Joey had a blast.

Daddy's Birthday
Joe turned 31 on the 25th so he picked out a german chocolate cake. I made it on his birthday and we used the german chocolate frosting on it.
I put it in a springform pan and cooked it. When I first took it out it seemed like the outside had cooked but the inside had not, so I put it in for a few more minutes.
Next time I pulled it out, checked it and then went ahead and let it cool for a bit.
I came back and hour later and the middle of the cake fell. What the heck?!
So after I frosted it Joe told me the cake was the saddest thing he'd ever seen! Everyone did admit it was super good though. It was quite a laugh. To add to the 'wacky' cake, we had a number 3 candle, and did not have a number 1 candle, so we just used a regular candle (that was half the size) and lit that to make it 3 and a 1. Yes, it was a sad, sad cake :)

Justin also knows that Daddy loves baseball and will drop everything to play with him.

What is going on with us...
This will be a bit of here and there and everywhere but you get the point!
This morning I wake up early because I went to bed at 10pm. I get on the computer to update my blog and notice the boys are still not up. They slept until 8:30. That was so nice!
Yesterday we dropped the boys off at the SS Noah drop in daycare so we could do some grocery shopping in peace and they could have fun playing.
Joe and I had a really peaceful shopping trip and the store wasn't even crowded. We found a lot of awesome deals and stocked up on a lot of stuff for our pantry like canned fruit and veggies.
After the shopping trip we went home to put away the cold groceries and then decided to go out on a lunch date. I talked Joe into going to a Thai restaurant. He talked me into agreeing to not go to any more fast food restarants this month. I agreed.
The place we went to was this really small restaurant near Justin school. The food was marvelous. We both got drunken noodles and it was soo soo yummy. It was so nice to have a relaxing Saturday with Joe. Every Saturday this year has been quite busy and full of errands. It was nice to have one to just kick around and relax.
Friday evening before we went grocery shopping to store #1 I wanted to tape a show on tv. I hunted all over for the remote control and it was no where to be found and Joey was the last one with it.
When we got home from shopping we all searched again and could not find it. This made Joe really ticked off because it's March Madness (basketball) and he could not watch it in digital quality on his big tv because the remote for the cable box was no where to be found. Even if we turned on the cable box manually it was on station 13 and his digital chanel was in the 3000 range!
Finally that night before I went to bed I checked one more time in the closet, on the floor and decided to stick my hand INTO the couch and I felt something hard. THE REMOTE!! I walked so I could see Joe, waved the remote and he practically smiled ear to ear. He was so happy I found it. He was sure it was lost forever! I was just glad to have found it!
Thursday this week it was 71 and I actually was sitting in my office saying to myself, 'Jeez, that breeze is COLD'. Has my blood thinned or what?!
About two weeks ago we'd have one really nice day in the 70s or 80s and then the rest were in the 60s or 50s. The weekend was always the worst and normally in the 40s!
Finally this week every since day has been in the 70s. It has been sooo sooo nice here in Texas. The trees have been flowering for about 2 weeks now. The bushes are getting ready to flower. The trees are starting to get their leaves. I love spring!!
Thursday this week we made steak, rice and broccoli for dinner. Justin ignored the steak and rice but ate an entire bag of broccoli. I can not believe how much that boy LOVES broccoli!!
Joe has taught Justin to answer the ? "Who is the greatest band in the world?" and Justin yells "Metallica!!" It's really funny hearing that coming from a 2 year old.
Joey started T-ball practice last week. This week was week 2. He's really enjoying it.
This week was also spring break. Joey had no preschool. I kept Justin home every day this week except Thursday. Monday and Tuesday Justin had a cold so that's why I kept him home. Wednesday we had a park lunch date planned so he stayed home with me and went to that and entertained Joey.
Thursday he went to daycare. Friday he stayed home with me and I noticed he had big blisters on his behind. Another trip to the doctor and they said he had a staff infection on his behind and gave me medicine to put on it to get rid of the bumps.
This week I met Vicki, which is Ethan's mom. Ethan and Joey go to the same school. Monday this week I did a lunch date with the boys are McDonalds. After we got there to play Joey ran off with his friend Ethan, who also happened to be playing there. After we were getting ready to leave I found Ethan's mom and told her I would love to do a playdate with the boys.
We set one up for the next day since we had already planned to do a lunch date at the park in Frisco. We tried to meet there but since it was Spring break there were about 100 kids in that park. We decided it was a bit too crowded and went back to a park in her neighborhood (which is nearby where we live too!).
The kids enjoyed the park and we also had lunch. Afterwards Joey begged to go to Ethan's house and so we did for a little bit. Vicki and I got along really well. She has two boys as well. Ethan is a month younger than Joey. Holden is a month older than Justin.
Friday this week we got together again with a lunch playdate at our house. That was nice too as we were able to talk a bit and let the boys just run around and play in the house. They also went outside and played a bit.
We didn't do anything exciting for St. Patrick's day. We never do, I guess.
Jason and Caroline will be visiting us for 5 days with their daughter Sabrina and arriving on April 1st. I can't wait!!!!

Having a picnic!
I woke up one morning and the boys had a blanket in the front hallway, and said they were, "Having a picnic mom!"
They had gotten into the fruity pebbles, had two bowls and were eating them and giggling.
They were having such a fun time that I just had to take photos of them. They were so proud of themselves.
There was such a mess afterwards that I gave Joey the dust buster and he cleaned up all the remaining cereal pieces from the ground! Silly boys!

Texas was under a severe drought and it was so nice to finally get some rain. It rained for about 3 days straight and then we almost had too much rain! Go figure.

Taking down the fish tank...
Well, it was time to give up the fish for awhile.
After the big pacu's died around Christmas time, our 'fish hobby' just hasn't been the same.
I had just cleaned out the filter and put it back together. We think that the filter finally was on it's last legs because I tried everything for two days to fix the canister filter but it kept making a knocking noise in the motor and would fail to run.
Joe and I decided that instead of spending another $150 for a canister filter, we would just put up the tank and give it a rest for awhile.
I freecycled all the fish and snails. Two different people came and took them. I was happy to give the fish another happy home.
Then we unloaded all the water from the tank and dried it out.
The stand is in the attic. The tank is in the upstairs attic adjacent to the kids rooms.
The boys cried when we told them we were getting rid of the fish. I told Joey one morning before school to say 'goodbye' to the fish as they would not be there when he got home.
We got to the laundry room to get ready to go into the garage and he just broke down and started to cry. I asked him what was wrong and he said, 'But mom, I LOVE the fish. I don't want to get rid of them!'.
I didn't even realize the kids loved the fish that much. We told them that even though we were getting rid of the fish tank, it wasn't forever. Just for awhile.

More fun with mom's shoes...
The ENTIRE month of February someone was sick (except Joe who managed to stay healthy among everything that came through our house).
Justin - Croup

Fun times. That was our entire month of February. I am not sure there was one day someone wasn't sick.
We welcomed March with open arms.
Because we were so sick in February, I didn't really take many photos.
Lately, now that everyone is feeling so much better, we've been trying to get a TON of stuff done. We are spring cleaning, painting, doing home improvements and trying to make the yard look nice now that it's warmed up a bit.
Today was a prime example of a busy day.
We took Joe's car to the dealership to get maintenance done on it. He wants to have the car a long time and figured he might as well have it maintenanced now that he has 70,000 miles on it and wants to keep it a long time.
Then we went to the dry cleaners.
Then we had to pick up a few things at Walmart.
Then all the boys needed haircuts. Joey and Justin both have pictures at school next week!
Then we came home and worked outside. We pulled a million weeds. We chopped off a few branches from a tree out front.
We all took naps.
Justin has been in the habit of coming downstairs when he is done with his nap and waking Joey up from his nap (yes, we can still ask Joey to take a nap and he usually will).
So... after that we picked up the car.
We then came home. Joe changed the oil in the lawn mower. He mowed the grass. He weed-whacked.
We found out all of the outdoor electrical outlets aren't working. Nice....
Then I used the neighbors weed blower to blow all of the leaves and weeds and junk out of our yard. Our yard looks a million times better now.
Then we made pizzas.
Then it was bath time and then play time.
Then bed time.
Just tonight Joey has been hoarse - like he's losing his voice. I hope he's not getting sick again!

We took Joe's car to the dealership to get maintenance done on it. He wants to have the car a long time and figured he might as well have it maintenanced now that he has 70,000 miles on it and wants to keep it a long time.
Then we went to the dry cleaners.
Then we had to pick up a few things at Walmart.
Then all the boys needed haircuts. Joey and Justin both have pictures at school next week!
Then we came home and worked outside. We pulled a million weeds. We chopped off a few branches from a tree out front.
We all took naps.
Justin has been in the habit of coming downstairs when he is done with his nap and waking Joey up from his nap (yes, we can still ask Joey to take a nap and he usually will).
So... after that we picked up the car.
We then came home. Joe changed the oil in the lawn mower. He mowed the grass. He weed-whacked.
We found out all of the outdoor electrical outlets aren't working. Nice....
Then I used the neighbors weed blower to blow all of the leaves and weeds and junk out of our yard. Our yard looks a million times better now.
Then we made pizzas.
Then it was bath time and then play time.
Then bed time.
Just tonight Joey has been hoarse - like he's losing his voice. I hope he's not getting sick again!
