Last weekend was Joe birthday - the big 28. We had a nice family birthday. Grandma made Joe a cake and it was nice. See photos below. We also made fried ice cream. Boy, is that hard to make. Only one ice cream ball came out ok. Once we deep fried them, they seemed to immediately melt! Bummer!
Monday was just busy. When I got home Joey and I went outside to play. I planted the rest of the tulip bulbs (I know, kinda late!), Joey and I played ball while we ran up and down our steep backyard, then I ran him around the block in his little tyke car (it has a handle where I can steer it) and I mean literally ran. He's really good as he puts his feet up so I can push it. THEN I went to Curves. Holy man did I get a
workout!
Tuesday was our date night. Joe went with me to Curves. They have it once a year where you can bring in your spouse, who will work out with you, and they get to see what type of workout you have. Afterwards we went out to eat in an Authentic Mexican restaurant. Boy was it tasty. I think I said MMMMM like 50 times! We had fried ice cream to top it off. Dena, our daycare provider, watched Joey while we went out. It was nice. Then I came home and baked a cheesecake for someone at work who's birthday was on Thursday.
Wednesday was a normal day. Daycare said Joey was coughing a lot and he went to bed early. He didn't look so good.
Thursday Joey looked fine when he got up so Joe took him to daycare. Work was busy. Everyone raved about the cheesecake. I felt sick. I left work a 1/2 hour early. Called Joe and told him to pick Joey up. I was going RIGHT home. Came home and crashed. I couldn't move all night. I slept from about 4pm until the next morning. My chest hurt, my back hurt, I was fatigued and felt AWFUL. Dizzy, lightheaded, the whole bit. I never ate past noon. I tried to eat some chicken broth and that's all I could handle.
Friday - Still felt like crap. Called the OB. Didn't go into work but did a little work from home. OB wanted to see me. Got an appt for 11:20. I couldn't drive because I was dizzy. I called Joe to come home to take me to the OB. Went to the OB. The baby is fine. I have the coxsackie virus. It's pretty much intestinal. The Dr. told me the pain in my chest was my stomach pressed all the way up to my chestbone! Thanks baby!!! The baby seemed big on ultrasound. The baby is transverse, which means it's head is up by my left rib and it's feet are down by my right hip. It's kinda sideways. I rested all day. I was still exhausted but felt better in the evening. I felt ok enough to take Joey to the local park (see photos below) and watched him play with Joe as I sat on the park bench. I didn't have enough energy to stand for long periods of time. He LOVED it. We stopped for ice cream afterwards. Joey was in heaven!
Saturday - felt better but still tired. Did some errands in the morning and cleaned some. The house has looked like hell since I haven't cleaned like I normally do in the week. Joey and I took a nap in the afternoon. We got up and went to great great grandma's house. It took us awhile to get there because they shut down the highway already for construction! Nana is 94 years old and still lives on her own - it's amazing. I've never been there. She ordered in dinner and we ate and talked for a few hours. Joey was well behaved, as usual. We left when he started to get tired and he fell asleep on the way home.
Next Wednesday I find out the gender of the baby - so stay tuned!!! Oh and I did my new pages for scrapjazz - two of my favorites are posted to the right on the sidebar! Take a look!
