I'm here...but busy

I know I haven't been around lately. I've been busy with life - sleeping, working out, cleaning our hell hole of a house. I hate remodeling. I love how it looks when it's done but I hate living through it!

Briana's Easy to make Meat Goulash
I made goulash last night and this is how I did it. Joe loved it.
Take about 12 oz of elbow macaroni. Boil it until tender.
In the meantime take one lb of beef and brown it, and mix in one chopped onion and one or two cloves of garlic. Once the beef is browned, drain.
Then add noodles and open a can of spaghetti sauce and put it in the pan you browned the beef in. Stir well.
Add in cheddar cheese on top, enough to cover the top of the spaghetti, cover and let melt for about 3-5 minutes. Once done, serve. Joe and I LOVED it. I made this on my own and it's one of our favorites now. Just wanted to share.

So anyhow, last weekend we went up north to see Grandma. She made a valentine's cake with Elmo on it - it was so cute. We got Joey a VTECH video game system. I know he's only two but it's a learning system and he has so many toys that he didn't need anymore. He actually gets some of the games which impresses me. These kids nowadays are so smart!

This week I was glad it was over because we have a three day weekend. Joe is working on fixing up our closets. I'm excited about it since living without closets is awful! He's been fixing the holes in the closet, and getting it ready to paint. We bought the closet maid system so it should look nice when it's done. I have before and after photos so I'll show you when we are finished.

Just yesterday someone posted a couch and chair on freecycle. Ours that we have is not matching and the sofa isn't long enough for Joe to stretch out. We never used the bed part of the sofa. I asked Joe if he wanted to go get it and he said yes. It's a cream colored sofa and chair. They are comfortable. They need to be cleaned but that's ok and it's a super long couch so Joe's happy. We already have people coming to pick up the sofa bed and our recliner chair. The living room actually looks nicer with matching furniture. We can't justify buying new furniture right now because we can't really afford it and I have a cat that has nails and used to use furniture as a scratching post so for now, used furniture is good for me!

I guess that's about it. We are going to my parents house tonight for turkey dinner.

The photos below is why I keep blowing my friends off about not coming over to their house to do whatever. We need to clean our own house up and get all these things off the floors and counters and into our new closets!!

I'll post some snow photos later tonight of Joey's first sledding adventure with daddy.

Where we dumped a lot of my scrapbooks and Joe's albums. See my poor kitchen and dining room?

Our living room, before we got the furniture.

Our upstairs living room. Another place that needs to be organized!!!
