Yesterday my friend Jennifer from Florida (who I've known since high school) came up to Michigan so we got together. She came over for a little while and we chatted and I met her boyfriend. He's a nice guy. For the most part we watched tv. Our house wasn't in the best shape to entertain anyone and we had Joey to watch and get to bed. It was nice seeing her!

Well almost all the painting is done. Grandma Char (Joe's mom) came down from up north to help Joe paint while I watched Joey today. Luckily Joey went to nap shortly after they started painting. I was able to clean. I freecycled a TON of stuff today. I can't believe the stuff I've been getting rid of lately. I also put a huge lot of scrapbook supplies on our local garage sale site (place like freecycle but for selling stuff) and sold a bunch of stuff for $15 but it included a trimmer, punches, paper and stickers, wire tools, etc. So I am happy to get rid of that.

A lady is coming to take the big map that was hanging in the office with the pins in it. It's nice but not safe for Joey in his room.

I am getting rid of a ton of envelopes. I have probably 10,000. My dad gets them from me from what is leftover from the cards at the Hallmark store so I have a bajillion of them. I am getting rid of some photo albums for a baby (I scrapbook - no photo albums here), and a ton of other stuff.

Tomorrow we are getting rid of our waterbed. We still don't have our mattress!! We need to get rid of it though so we can get the carpet installed. Jim came over today and measured our house for carpet so on Monday we are going to a warehouse to order new carpet. Tomorrow after the waterbed mattress is gone we are breaking down the frame, throwing it out and putting together our new bed - without mattress. The mattress better get here soon! I called Bergad.com and asked them to track our order but of course no one was in the office on Saturday evening. I hope it's shipped already! We ordered it about 10pm on 1/4 so they should have gotten the order on 1/5. It's 1/14 already!

Joe's dad turned 50 today! Happy birthday Dad! :) Joe called and chatted with him.

The new paint in the house looks awesome! No one could believe how awesome it looked with one new coat of paint. I didn't realize how old the paint was in the entryway and hallways. What a difference it made getting new paint on the walls!

Tonight Joe and I took Joey to Leo's Coney Island for dinner and he had a hot dog and fries. He loved my chili cheese fries and started to eat MINE!! What a stinker! He was really good in the restaurant. Next time we'll have to get him two hot dogs though!

We thought our furnace was dying this morning but we think it's ok now. The gas jets would turn on for about 5 seconds and then shut off. Then later in the afternoon it started to work. Phew. Can you imagine an emergency call and how much that would cost?

I guess that's about all. I'll update more tomorrow and take photos. I'm really sad. It's the last night in my bed. I've had this bed since I was 10 years old. It's so comfortable! The reason we are getting rid of it is because it's so old, Joe doesn't want a waterbed anymore on our upper level, and the frame is so old and rigged that once we take it apart to get it out of the room to carpet it, it is shot and we'd have to buy a new frame anyway. The bed is so large there is no room in our bedroom for even a dresser!! So someone from freecycle is coming to get it tomorrow. I'm so sad!! My bed!! :( I hope the new bed is as comfortable as this one is! I'll be surprised if any bed is as comfortable as mine is! I'm so used to it! I've been sleeping in it for 17 years now! Yikes!

Here are some photos of Joey's birthday! Joe's mother (Grandma Char) got him a Radio Flyer tricycle. He still hasn't figured out the pedals but he's trying! Also, notice all of the tongue hanging out photos. Joey does this when he's thinking. Grandma Char also gave Joey a TON of coins, as he loves filling up his piggy banks. He calls this one piggy and will hug and kiss it. It's the cutest thing ever! He will plop a big fat kiss on the pig's nose. LOL

Grandma Kapa (Great Grandma) got him a John Deere toolbox with some tools. A little later he decided to draw on his favorite large writing tablet. He loves to color.

Later that day we decided to have his birthday cupcake. He kinda tried to blow out the candles, but then got mad and didn't like the smoke so everyone helped him.

Joey's birthday photos coming soon!

First off, today is my brother's birthday. He's 24. Eek! My brother is 24? Where has time gone? I left him a message on his phone - it was my mother, Joe and I all singing Happy Birthday at the top of our lungs. Love you bro!!

Well Joey had his wellness appt today. He's 36.5 inches tall for a day over 2 and 29 lbs. Know what that means? He's very very tall and skinny. Yep - just like his dad! He's in the 95-100% in height! He's my boy!!

Today I was very rambunctious! I moved our computer desk into the living room to start our remodel/changing rooms thing. I set up all our pc stuff and it's working great. I like it in the living room. We are getting rid of the daybed tomorrow so that will be out of the house since we didn't have room for it anymore.

Today Joe got off work early and we left Joey at my parents house, borrowed my dad's truck and picked up our new bed frame and dresser. I'll show you the bed frame we got if I can eventually get the website to load. This is the mattress we got - one of those memory foam mattresses. I hope we like it!

Then afterwards I stopped at this woman's house to pickup some maternity clothing she was freecyling. I was expecting a small bag of tops, and I got this huge garbage bag size of clothing! Wow - what a sweet and generous lady!!!

Today the cable guy also came and ran lines for internet and cable tv in the living room so both the tv and pc are now in the living room. Now we just have to clean, purge, organize, tear out closets, clean again, paint, carpet and then assemble furniture...oh and then build our closets. Eek!

So that's all that is going on in our lives. Busy busy busy we are! I love change. I think if you want to live in a house for a long time, you have to remodel and change in order to keep things fresh. Maybe I'm sick?? :)

Last night I loaded every blog that I usually read on our 28.8 dialup (which is painfully slow – Grandma has the 28.8 dialup – I have cable) and I made comments on all of your blogs. I also added links to all of my blog followers. If your link is not in my friend’s blog section – please let me know and I’ll add you. I’m so sorry I haven’t updated in a month. I’ve been so busy around the house so I hopefully caught up on all of you. I appreciate the time you take to check out my blog. You are such good friends. Alex – I couldn’t get your blog to load. It loaded halfway and then stopped. That’s why I couldn’t comment on yours!

Last night Joey woke up multiple times coughing and wanting to be rocked, but the last time he woke he was sweaty and had a 100.9 temp! So no Chuckie Cheese’s today. We will go again this month and celebrate then.

I slept some of today. It’s just a lazy day. Tonight we need to go home and take apart the daybed because the lady is coming tomorrow to pick it up!

I just found out a friend of mine - Meghan, that has been my online bud since like 2000 is preggo and due around the same time I am! How freaking cool!
